I was telling some students this week that I'll always be learning, always be seeking, and always be continuing to improve my artwork.  I could live a thousand years and still not have time to explore and paint all the ideas that come to me, still not have time to master what I desire to master.  So, with Van Gogh, I say, "Onward, onward."  Creating art is all about the journey and what a wonderful journey it is. - Jill

What struck me about this quote is that one must be comfortable with dissonance in order to let harmony make its way to the surface.  Sometimes it's the paintings that I struggle with the most that turn out the best.  If I gave up midway in the midst of my frustration, some of my greatest works would never have come to fruition.

I love to see my students soar.  Please pay special attention to the last photo!  We're starting a tradition on Monday nights for when Tamara finishes one of her masterpieces.  She practically levitates while kicking her heals in delight.  You see, Tamara has the patience of Job when working on the details of her paintings.  

In this age of do everything quickly, there is great reward for the individual who takes the time to work through a process rather than skip over it.
